Late night tea parties

HiyaHiya Fruit Lace Socks

Yesterday I woke up with the need to organize and set some goals. I was going to write a post on goals I’d like to make. But then I lost it all in WordPress.  So I think my first goal of the new year will be to type all my posts outside of WordPress?  For the life of me I can’t remember all I wanted to say.  So I’ll just move on and give you these socks.  Only the toes are left to knit.  I am really enjoying this yarn! Except for the knots that I have found along the way.

Pattern: HiyaHiya Fruit Lace Socks on Ravelry
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Solemate, color 2012 Christmas at Downton (no longer available)

Speaking of which, did you watch Downton Abbey last night? We had a small tea party while watching the the season premier. Was that a weird episode or is it just me?  This morning I am paying for the late night.  All future episodes will be watched at a later more reasonable hour.  It’s too late for this girl.

(Union Jack bunting made from this Riley Blake fabric.)

Yesterday we watched the last two episodes of season four of Downton Abbey. I honoustly was not too thrilled about this season, so I hope season five will be better again…!

Being from the UK I feel I really should have watched Downton Abbey. Just got series 1-3 DVD for Christmas so have some catching up to do and looking forward to it. Tea party looks yummy, what a fab idea.

Beautiful socks! I too had a late night with Downton Abbey, but I don’t regret it. It was definitely different; I think we are going to see some major upheavals . . . can’t wait! Take care, Byrd

Lovely tea party scene! Where did you find the Union Jack garland?

  • Irene says:

Sorry for failing to notice the answer to my question before I bothered you! I was secretly hoping it was the new RB fabric that just came out. Haven’t seen it in person yet. Have to find some soon. Happy New Year!

  • Mary Helmke says:

Oh my oh my, I love the socks. I’m hoping to learn to knit socks this year (or next). I’m also going to knit my first cardigan for me 🙂 I haven’t watched any of Downton Abbey, but hubby got me Seasons 1-3 for Christmas,so I’m looking forward to watching it.

  • Jane says:

It’s too late for us, too. We’ll probably wait till the season is over and watch it all at once. I like burning through the whole season and going into withdrawal.

  • Joni says:

Your socks are beautiful. I do not know how to knit.Your sweaters on flicker are stunning! Do you knit the pair together, like that, so you will finish them both and not be left with just one done???
I hope you are feeling well, and getting energized. Winter’s are tough, its the grey…I always think I will be more productive during the winter, but it hasn’t happened yet!!!

  • Cindy says:

Your socks are wonderful! Love them… I fell asleep while watching Downton Abbey, I rewatched it yesterday… it comes on too late for me too! Your tea party looked like so much fun.
