My sewing mojo has gone AWOL

April 28, 2013 § 9 Comments

I was talking to Letty and we decided that it is probably post traumatic kitchen remodel & lost kitty trauma.  I’m sure my mojo will return again one day.  In the  mean time, I did finish a pair of socks.  And then started another pair of the same pattern for my best friend. With different yarn, of course.  I made these toe up and used a different kind of heel that I hadn’t tried before. I’ve never been a big fan of toe up… mainly because I don’t enjoy the short row heel.  But this one may have changed my mind. It’s super easy.

Pattern – Pyroclastic socks from the Knitty, Winter 2009 issue

Mods – Judy’s Magic Cast-on for the toe & Wendy Johsnon’s Gusset Heel with Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Sewn Bind-off

Yarn – Colinette Jitterbug, color 180 Salted Caper

Needles – 2.25mm & magic loop

Beautiful socks! The yarn really suits the pattern you selected. I’m not fond of the short row heel either but really do like the toe on a toe up sock. I’ll have to try out that heel you used this time.

Give it time. Mine is finally back after an 18 month hiatus.

Beautiful socks – I love the yarn.

  • Beautiful socks, Anita! I’m a sock junkie (just between you and me) and subscribe to the belief that you can never have too many! I love the hand knitted ones and am in awe of those who can do this. It’s ok to take a break from sewing as long as you’re still doing something you love 🙂

There’s a time for everything, even resting.

Beautiful and I bet they feel good, too. Knitting is supposed to be theraputic. Feel better!

There has been so much change in you life recently…both exciting and sad. I suspect that creativity rides on our well-being. When I’m feeling mentally and emotionally tired I love to sit and crochet…maybe knitting brings you peace, as well.

  • Lynn says:

Yes it will return. In the meantime, you make some lovely socks!!!!

Go ahead, say something...
