Let the Season Begin

Fabric purchased last year
Okay… the shopping is done, largely due to the fact that we are giving a fair amount of consumable gifts. (No need for more items that need dusting, cleaning or storing!) And the remainder were either found on the Internet or have been acquired over time. I’m doing a little happy dance. Oh, there are still a few handmade items I am working on… but I plan to enjoy the process.
Pillowcases made this year*
Last year I was cranky. Between not being prepared giftwise, power outages, snow storms and general grinchiness, I was not enjoying the season. And I don’t enjoy the last minute panic shopping, crowded malls, roads that feel like parking lots and the pressure to get it all done.
The amaryllis is sprouting. It was planted the week before Thanksgiving.
This year, it is our plan to relax and thoroughly enjoy the season. Let the Holidays begin!
* Didn’t you know that fabric has to age in a cupboard just like fine wine? This fabric would be the equivalent of a young wine. Other fabric may need to age years before it’s ready to use! That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
