Do The Leaf Shuffle

October 15, 2007 § 1 Comment

The thing I like most about autumn, and there are a lot of things I like, is the sound of shuffling feet through golden autumn leaves.

We had to drive to Eastern Washington to find the brilliantly colored autumn leaves. Western Washington had a very wet summer which makes the leaves turn brown instead.

Autumn and time spent with family. Two great things that go great together. Lucky for me, my sister-in-law is also a knitter and we made room for petting some yarn over the weekend as well as leaf shuffling.

I miss the sun already. I hope that isn’t any indication of how long and wet the winter is going to be. If it’s going to be wet at home, it had better be snowy in the mountains! I’m just saying…

Unfortunately we’re not getting much color in TN. It has been too warm and too dry. If we go to the higher elevations (4500′ +) we find more of it. We’re at 2000′ and we have some color but most of the leaves are just dropping.

Go ahead, say something...
