It’s Never Too Late

August 28, 2007 § 2 Comments

It’s never too late to finish a project. Never-mind that this quilt top had been sitting on a shelf for years waiting to be quilted. It’s one of my very first big, bed-sized quilt tops. I finally gave in and sent it to a long-arm quilter to be quilted.

The last stitch on the binding was finished this morning. It’s a huge quilt. Maybe 90-inches square. And, I even cut the border down a little bit. It was meant to be a summer bed quilt.  It feels like autumn today. I love autumn.

After the binding was finished, I got the bug to clean. It took 2 hours to clean behind all the computer cables, but it feels so good to have that done. Sometimes I wonder if I am more of a fall-cleaning kind of a gal rather than a spring-cleaning one.

I think the pattern was in a magazine but I don’t remember which one. After some Google searching I did find this one. But the cover doesn’t look familiar at all. The pattern is Robert Callaham’s Rainbow Around the World.

Did I say… I love autumn. And… I’m glad to have finally have finished this quilt. Even if the summer season is pretty much over.

It’s lovely! I like the flower quilting that was done in the center also. I currently have 2 quilts that I need to finish up. One I had hoped to have done for this fall…maybe I’ll work on it some more this weekend. I too love autum. It is my absolute favorite season. I have began to change some of the things over in my house to the autumn colors however I don’t feel justified. Once September officially starts I’ll feel perfectly fine if people come over and see fall colors. It’s just so hot here right now that it doesn’t seem like fall will ever come.

What a beautiful quilt. I love the solid sashing squares against a white background. One of my favorite design elements of vintage quilts. I think the NW angle of the sun is effecting us in similar ways 😉

Go ahead, say something...
