Low Volume Quilts

You should come over to Flickr and join the Low Volume QAL… because it will make me feel less guilty for wanting to start another project before my current ones are even finished.
Quilting Daily has a pdf article on different techniques for quilt design, one of which is low volume quilts. You can download it and read it over here.
Above are some fabrics I quickly pulled from my stash.

Cool! I loved making my Made in Cherry quilt using low volume prints (I’ve added it to the flickr group). I ended up using the wrong side of a lot of my prints to mute them out even further.
Where is that bra print from? It’s splendid!
i love the idea of using the wrong side to get low volume
im so glad you decided to play
thanks for getting the group started too
oh this sounds like fun, not sure I have fabrics like this but I am going to have to look! it would be a challenge!
thanks for sharing. I love working outside my comfort zone sometimes

Thanks for posting this link. The low volume concept is fascinating! I downloaded the article set… I can’t wait to really sit down and read this.
Show us what you come up with. Ok?
It always amazes me how beautiful simple quilts can be…..Keep us updated with your progress as well.
